Supernatural Songs, Tavener’s ethereal tour de force inspired by the poems of W.B. Yeats, forms the centrepiece of this special concert, which also features the Hilliard Ensemble, as part of its 40th birthday season. They perform Arvo Pärt’s Litany, with the Holst Singers, and give the UK premiere of Voice of St Columba, by Gavin Bryars, with the Orchestra and leader, Alexandra Wood, performing Pärt's meditative Fratres.
